About Me

Since my youth, I knew that I wanted to utilize my curiosity to benefit society. I had an affinity for asking questions that didn’t have clear answers, and I always wanted to understand how the world around me works. I also became fascinated by the application of science, which has led to my interest in a research career.

I have a Bachelor's of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology from San Francisco State University, where I worked as a student, a researcher, and an emerging leader. I am currently enrolled in the Molecular and Cellular Biology Ph.D. Program at the University of Washington, where I am investigating asymmetric cell division in the context of neuronal development. After completing my graduate studies, I hope to work in the biotech industry to help develop novel therapeutics.

I have become impassioned to contribute towards the development of therapeutics for cancer, and I want to especially help communities that are disproportionately affected by these diseases. By obtaining a Ph.D., I will develop and refine treatments for these diseases by becoming a senior scientific researcher. I have experienced first-hand the impact these diseases can have on my community, which has further motivated me to become a major contributor to these problems. Ultimately, I believe that my unique perspective will make a positive impact on the research that is currently being done in this field.
